Papa's Piddlin' Place

We are Lamar and Joann Brown, known by family and friends as Papa and Mama Jo.  We are vendors at Canton Marketplace.  The name of our booth is Papa's Piddlin' Place.  Lamar is a retired high school chemistry teacher and Joann is a retired nurse.  We live in Bullard, Texas with one dog, a hen, and about 25 goats.  We have four children and five grandchildren. Since three grandsons got married this past year, we're expecting great grands soon.

We first set up at Canton in December of 1985.  Our product line that first time was domino boxes and toy boxes. We're still building toy boxes, the domino boxes was another good idea that didn't sell.  Today, we have over 35 different home accessory items.  Every piece is built by us in our shop.  In addition to our toy box, we have shelves (3), display cases (7), memorabilia
box (4), mirrors(6), quilt trunks (3), flag case, plant stand, quilt holders, and boot boxes.  All of our items, except the toy box, is made of red oak, stain and finished with three coats of lacquer.

My Romantic Cottage specializes in Shabby Chic, Cottage and French styles and carries a wide array of furniture, pictures, lamps and table top décor. 

We are the ONLY vendor to offer a wide range of absolutely gorgeous Velvet Flowers and Beaded Fringe for the do-it-yourselfer or, we have lampshades and brooches decorated with Velvet Flowers and Beaded Fringe for those who prefer ready-made.   They are must-see items!

Sandy’s Attic specializes in Elegant Collectible Glass such as Fenton, Imperial, Heisey, Westmoreland, Imperial, Fostoria, Cambridge, Tiffin, and Paden City.

We also specialize in Vintage Jewelry such as Weiss, Bakelite, Eisenberg, Kramer, Lisner, Napier, Trifari, Goldette and Cora.   The selection is so great and the prices so low that other vendors shop Sandy’s Attic first!
